Joe Eno is in charge of the work. SHASTA COUNTY The Mt. Shasta SilicA Company has won its court action agains tClifford Russell et al, charged with jumping claims, and’ has quieted title to 26 claims in the north ¢astern part of the county. Each claim contains 160 acres and is said to contain valuable deposits . of diatomaceous earth. Wages of the employes of the Mountain Copper Company were cut 25c per day by the company on May 1st, affecting 350 employes. This-was reported due to the drop in the price of copper from 18e to 14¢ per pound SISKIYOU COUNTY F. L. Cunningham, operating the Lindy placer claim in the Happy Camp district reports finding traces of radium in the /black sand on his . property. He states that there. are places along the Klamath where the black) sand is prolific in this element) which is claimed-to be the equal’ of that of) Belgium. A rich body of silver ore discovered-on the 75 foot level at the Bluebird mine at Cathay has been opened} up laterally for a distance of nearly a hundred feet and the values are reported holding up well.
