FOREST CREWS START
SUMMER PLACEMENT IN
BLOOMFIELD AND TAHOE
Because, of a small fire started
by a recent thunderstorm part of
the summer fire protection force
will be placed ort’ the Bloomfield
district, -.according to District
Ranger H. I. Snider of the Tahoe
national forest.
Sam Kasper resumed his duties
as lookout man on the Banner
mountain location, and Edward
T. Small has begun duty as district dispatcher in Nevada City.
Any fire a cooperator finds in
the Bloomfield district, which is
roughly the area from Five-Mile
house on highway 20 to Bear valley, Bloomfield to Meadow lake
on the Graniteville road and from
the Bear river on the south to
the north .boundary,swhich is the
middel fork of the Yuba river,
should be reported 'to the’ Bloomfield district dispatcher, phone
Nevada City 128, or if no answer
call Banner mountain lookout,
Nevada City 3-F-2.
Forest, users should remember
that debris and incinerator burnin permits are now: required, as
well as camp. fire permits, and
debris. and incinerator fires may
be started at 8 p.m., not 7:p.m.,
as it has formerly: been.
The White Cloud campground
has been. opened under the supervision of Lee Bousfield, and
the North Bloomfield station will
have Ralph Hossinger at a later
date. Telephone lines and spring
water. developments are being
put in shape for summer use,

A meeting of the third district,
Parent-Teachers association will
be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in
the Methodist church, The theme
of the meeting is “Boost From
Convention.” :
The morning will consist mostly of reports from the state PTA
congress, with Mrs. M. C. McMillan, president of the third district, presiding. ° ;
Luncheon will be held at the
National hotel, reservations may

Smith will give a PTA platform
for the coming year. Mrs. Jack
Mehl will report on education

organization of elementary, high
