estate was held to have been administered unsatisfactorily by Coroner
Jefford through the deceased’s former wife, Mrs. Florence West of
Tonopah, Nevada, and Tom Launier,
whose personal possessions, including a new leather jacket and shirt
were unaccounted for after his death
in a cabin near Grass Valley. Jefford denied any wrong doing. Reeently he asked the supervisors to
accept hhis resignation as coroner but
the supervisors did not act on the
matter. Those called for Monday’s
hearing were: A. Locatelli of Chicago Park, a farmer, by whom Tosci
was employed; C. H. Barker, a real
estate man; Rev. Chas. Washburn of
the Episcopal Church, and Fred Bitney.
It was not decided att Monday's
meeting whether or not there will
ibe a formal hearing before the
board. J. Ray Keaton, of San Rafael,
president of the board refused ‘to reveal the identity of the complaintant
when asked to do so by Jefford,

attend the Golden Gate bay bridge
fiesta. He was particularly anxious
to be there for pedestrian day so as
to walk across the bridge.

from San Francisco early this week

F. E. Darke, nephew of John W.
Darke, was a visitor in Nevada City
yesterday. Darke was formerly pubfisher of a newspaper in Salinas,
but now resides in San Luis .Obispo.
He is delighted with Nevada City
