There will be thrills and excitement aplenty at Nevada Theatre Runday, when the tirring Warner Bros.’ -film, ‘‘Virginia City’? makes its local debut. THIRTY ONE ABSENTEE BALLOTS ARE ISSUED Yesterday was the last day to secure absentee ballots in order to cast a vote in the primary election to be held Tuesday, May 7. County Clerk R. N. DUELLO THREATENS! The feud of Leonard lLageson, agricultural commissioner, and Irving Long, insurance agent, of Nevada City, has been one of many months standing and finally has flared out into the open. One morning early in March Lageson came stepping proudly down Broad street. “I am going to make that Long come and look at my sweet peas if I have to go out and get. him”’. Long wasn’t to be seen for several days and when he did appear he was bearing a purple sweet pea in his coat lapel, and a twinkle in his eye. It is not quite clear which one raised the first flowers this year, though the argument rages. Long had planted his seed last fall and carefully tended his pets all seajson. Lageson planted his seed in a big pot in his office at the court house in January. Critically Nl— Mrs. Will C.
