A thrilling fight between four American airplanes and five japanese planes was described Saturday in‘a United States Press dispatch by Lieutenant William Bennett of Nevada City, who since his arrival at an Ameri ‘can airbase near Australia has been _ nicknamed ‘‘Wild Bill’ by his fellow officers. Bennett, husband of the former Ruth Curnow of Nevada City and son of the Ellsworth Bennets, told how he and three other United States Army Air Corps officers accounted for a Japanese bomber ‘and at least two.enemy navy O fighters in a fight over New Guinea. “Japanese bombers were over the air field and five Zeros were streaking like bats out of hell and up we go.
