AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING
THE DISCHARGE OF CANNON,
FIREARMS, FIREWORKS, OR ANY
EXPLOSIVE SUBSTANCE IN THE
CITY _OF NEVADA, EXCEPT IN
CONNECTION WITH PUBLIC DISPLAYS OR CELEBRATIONS UNDER
THE CONTROL OF THE CITY
COUNCIL AND—OR CITY SUPERIN.
TENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE
VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE,
AND A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS. ORDINANCE, AND
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
THIS ORDINANCE.
Be It Ordained by the Council of
the City of Nevada:
SECTION 1: No person, or persons, firm, company, corporation, or
association, other than as hereinaft6r permitted; shall fire or discharge
any ‘gun, cannon, rifle, pistol, or firearm of any kind, or explode any rocket, firecracker, bomb, Roman candle,
torpedo cane, blank cartridge or other combustible device _or
explosive substance, or any_kind of
fireworks, by whatever name known,
within the City Limits of the City of
Nevada.
Provided that public displays of
fireworks may be given with permission of the City. Council under a
competent director who understands
explosives.
SECTION 2: No person, or persons, shall place any explosive
substance on the rails of any. railroad company at any time, except
when used as signals in the conduct

or other necessary purposes within
the limits of the City of Nevada, upon the written permission of the Superintendent of Public Works, and under conditions which. will preclude
the possibility of injury ‘to persons
or property because of said blasting.
SECTION 4: ° No person, or persons,. firm, company, corporation, or
association shall sell or. offer-for sale
or expose for sale at retail use within the City of Nevada, any squib,
rocket, firecracker, bombs, Roman
candle or fire balloon or other combustible fireworks, or any article for
the making of a pyrotechnical display, within the limits of the City of
Nevada.

SECTION 5: Any person, or persons, firm, company, corpération or
association who or which shall violdte any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall be guilty of misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof,
shall ‘be punished by a fine of not exceeding Five Hundred ($500.00) i
Dollars or by imprisonment in ‘the
County Jail for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such

jthe 4th day of May, 1938, by the folSECTION ONE: Any and all fruit
and nut trees offered or delivered
for sale within the County of Nevada
shall be of good quality and condition and shall be free from twisted,
crossed, frosted, bnoken or otherwise
defective roots? broken grafts and
other deformation or defeets which
will interfere with the normal and
proper development of said fruit or
nut trees after planting.
SECTION TWO: The Agricultural
Commissioner of the County of Nevada shall inspect each and every
lot, load or shipment of fruit or nut
trees intended for sale or planting
in the county of Nevada and shall
reject any or all fruit or nut trees
that do not conform tio the quality
and condition provisions of SECTION
after said inspection and rejection
the County Agricultural Commissioner. shall in writing notify the
Owner or agent in charge of said lot,
load or shipment of fruit or nut
trees of the number and varieties rejected and the reason therefor and
shall order said owner or agent to
destroy or ship said rejected trees
out of the County of~Nevada within
a reasonable time.
SECTION THREE: Any person,
firm, corporation or association of
individuals who shall fail or refuse
to carry out the orders of said
County Agricultral\Comissioner
as prescribed in said written notice
shall ‘be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
SECTION. FOUR: The provisions
of this ordinance shall be in addition
to any other existing provisions of
law or regulations thereunder relating sto the quality and conditions of
fruit and nut trees offered or delivered for sale or planting.
SECTION FIVE: All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of ‘this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION SIX: . This ordinance
Shall take effect and be in full force
from and after 30 days after its passage, and the Clerk of the Board of
Supervisors is hereby authorized and
directed to cause this ordinance to
be published in The Morning Union
a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in the County
of Nevada, State of California, for at
least one week prior to fifteen days
after its passage.
