CLIFFORD WARNER .
NIGHT SCHOOL TEACHER
Clifford L. Warner, artist and
photographer, who has been teachjing art and photography in the Nevada City high school two evenings
a week, announces that the photography class, which has been held in
the high school on Thursday even‘ings will hereafter be held every
. Thursday evening from 7 to 9 in his
' studio on Commercial street, Nevada
‘City. The art class will go on as usual
“Tuesday evenings from 7-to 9 in the
‘high school. :
The reason for this change, Mr.
Warner stated, is that his studio is
better equipped with the necessary
photographic facilities for the teaching of photography. Mr. Warner is
an excellent artist and photographer, well qualified to teach one or
both.of these arts, and pupils interested in studying either of these subjects will find it well worth their
while to attend his classes.
Carlos Casmore, son of Mrs. Walter Weege who enlisted in the army

FRIDAY. NOVEMBER 11, 1938.
J. D.i\Rafferty of the Tahoe National Forest went to Truckee this
morning where Christmas trees are
\. being cut for the holiday trade. C.
M. Gwin, administrative assistant of
the forest service stated yesterday,
forest officials do not expect a large
amount of Christmas tree business
this year as practically all first grade
trees have been cut. Several small
sales have been mlade so far in the
Truckee district. About 15,000 trees
were cut last year for the holiday
trade.

For very little we can make

SEASON TICKETS,
FOR CONCERT
SERIES ON SALE
H: A. Curnow, manager of the Nevada City branch of the Bank _ of
America, ‘has announced that season tickets for the eleven concerts
of the Sacramento Music association
have been placed on sale in the bank
offices.
Mr. Curnow said: ““We have made
these tickets available prin'cipally
because we feel that the people of
Nevada City should be given the opportunity of hearing this fine music
at the bargain price offered. Season
tickets are $2.50 each and cover all
of the concerts. This is less than 25
eents a concert. If purchased individually, the concerts admission would
total $9.00. Thus, it is a saving to
those planning to attend to have
season books,’’
The Music Association program
will include concerts by the Sacramento Symphony Orchestra under
the baton of William Vanden Burg,
conductor of the Standard Symphony
Hour; by the McNeill Club, popular
made chorus; by the 200 voice Civic
Singers group, and by the Sacramento Light Opera Guild presenting
**Pinafore’”’. i
One of the features of the program will be the appearance of the
San Francisco Opera Ballet with the
Symphony Orchestra on January 12.
