Lang, proprietor of] NORTH SAN JUAN NORTH SAN JUAN, Nov., 15, 1932. —Miss Lizzie Allen and a friend of San Francisco were callers in town on Saturday. They visited the old cemetery where Miss Allen’s parents are buried. Miss Allen was one of a large family of children, who were born and raised in Birchville. time a teacher in French Corral. It is 25 years since Miss Allen was in San’ Juan yet she recognized many old friends at once. One of these was “Smiley”, who was delighted to see her and remembered all about her and her early home. “Smiley’’ loves to greet old friends and seldom forget#a face even after years of absence. Mr. and Mrs. George Luhr, entertained Mr. Luhr’s sister over Sunday. Miss Luhr, is a teacher and had to.be back in the school TOO on Monday morning. : Mr. Barnhart and Mr. Roland of Visialia, have gone into partnership with Mr. Newman in his mine on the Middle Yuba. Their work is. ground sluicing. Mr. Sam Hendricks of Marysville, is living on his ranch which he purchased from the Lohmans. He and his partner are doing some mining there. Mr. H. H. Buckner, preached here here Sunday afternoon. Accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Buckner from Nevada City, were Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Burns. Mrs. Burns ‘and Mrs. Buckner sang a duet.
