Featuring a cast of film favorites headed by Gail Patrick, Lloyd Nolan and J. Carrol Naish, ‘King of Alcatraz’’ shows Naish, the king of mobsters seizing a whole ship at sea,’ forcing its loyal crew to change its course, and defying police to re-take him. The pirating of the ship by the gangster and his henchmen makes this story a new kind of sea tale. The film feotures the sereen’s first picturization of a “radio operation’, in which Gail Patrick, portraying a ship’s nurse, is forced to operate on the severely wounded Lloyd Nolan, receiving her step by step instructions as how to proceed via radio from a doctor on another ship hundreds of miles away. sun counting our blessings. now we seem to be living that dream a too-good-to-be-truist feeling, in the meantime our share with others, so that they might keep it as-long as they wished. This all sounds perfectly assinine, it is amazing how hard it is to express an emotion that comes from deep within, while, on the other hand trivial things, like the man onthe flying trapese, ‘bubble forth with the greatest of ease. COMING home from the show last night, we noticed on the opposite hillside great gobs of tremendous lights. We immediately-econcludea that the Narrow Gauge had been playing hop scotch with the rails again, or something tremendous had occurred that called for all the patrol cars, ambulances, and tow-cars in the county. The sluething instinct in us popped out, we leaped into our chariot and galloped over to_ see. Imagine our chagrin to find it was a home, decked with some very superior floodlights. It sort of annoyed us too—it made our own pride-and-joy floodlights look so VERY insignificant! Going to the show in Nevada City is like going to a party, you meet all your friends and have a simply elegant time chatting between acés, and sometime during acts. We often wonder how it is we are not politely ushered out, but we try and remember the words of that great sage Char Lee (McCarthy) Confucius, “when you get into hot water, be nonchalant, take a bath,” AND so with this we say, happy, happy, Thanksgiving, and cheerio, everybody.: The final week of the U. We just do not know what we have done in this life to deserve so much. Happiness seems to be our greatest gift, and upon further meditation we concluded ‘that happiness is all encompassing. Long years ago we dreamed of life as we would like to live it, and but gratitude is deep, .and. we shall continue while there is breath left in our body to enjoy each second to the last drag. We wish our happiness were an ever lasting cake, that we could slice and ‘less.
