The program got under way when Ruth Mitchell, ~bugler for the evening, sounded **Assembly,”’ after which Mary Jane Hawkins, officer of the day, ordered the several troops and their color bearers into the hall. After the assembly had saluted the fiag, the color bearers returned to their seats and the officer of the day turned the program over to Mrs. M. Morrison, Girl Scout Commissioner, ‘ who presided for the remainder of the evening. Mrs. Morrison’ then presented the guest sueaker, Judge Janes. ’ In the course of his remarks, Judge Jones emphasized the present very great need for what.scouting stands foi He felt that the Girl Scout movement ‘should have the same support that the Boy Scouts re<eive, and that the men of the community should learn more about the movement here ,and give it their cooperation and backing. Mrs. Morrison then presented the long awaited class and proficiency badges. The following received the awards: Tenderfoot: Troop 1, Dolores Rockefeller; Troop 2, Jenny Lamson, Joanne Hefelfinger, Joyce Lake, ~ Joyce Moore, Vera Malkavich, Helen Dodge, Norma Scholfield; Troop 3, Julia Panellia, Bonnie Miller, Swimmer: Troop 1, Barbara Neal, MynoTroop 3, Mary Jane Hawkins, Bonnie Miller, Maggie Barry. Cook: Troop 1, Mynola Marsh, Ruth Belisle; Mary Fleming, Fay Williams. Life saver: Troop 1, Mynola Marsh; Troop 3, fay Williams. Child care: Troop 3, Iva Foreman.
