Thomas, Frank Rowe, E. K. Smart, W. J. Daley, E. R B.urtner, and W. H. Freeman. Mr. Smart was returned as president and Dan C. Stewart succeeds W. H. Freeman as vice president. The rsignatios of E: O. Chapel was reluctantly ~ accepted. Harold W. Hartung was selected temporary seeretary pending election of a new one. Keeping two boost ‘organizations alive the past year in addition to two servile clubs has affected the effevtiveness of the chamber activities to a considerable degree and it has been hinted that there would be an amalgamation of the promotion board and the chamber in the near future, except for the fact that the promotion board has’ been seeking funds for its work in Nevada City and open amalgamation would defeat that purpose. Several of the new directors are closely affiliated with the personnel of the promotion board and this. has given rise to the report of the amalgamation.
