been out of standing dye to the
rowdy tacties at athletic sports,
largely by those who are not imemnibers of the schools. It has reacted
strongly on our communities as not
being good sports. The board of
managers of the northern section of
the Federation has endeavored to
make plain its position, which was
briefly stated to be that of endeavoring to see that there should
be proper conduct, not only on the
part of players and of the contesting school pupils, but upon the part
of the sight seeing public. It was
brought out at the meeting that for
many years the conduct on the part
of the crowds both at Nevada City
and Grass Valley had not. been such
as to promote good feeling and
good sportsmanship between schools
and communities. The drastic action
taken last year was done to secure
proper conduct on the part of the
friends and crowds who attend these
games. The evidence as brought out
at the meeting, seemed to indicate

overt acts upon the part of pupils
attending the high schools, but
rather one of controlling the crowd.

after the future games. He then
asked that since the board would
not shorten the time from three
years to one year as the IMmit for
public exclusion; that the board
should put us on probation at ‘least,
and allow us a chance this one year
to show that the situation could be
and would be properly controlled.
Mr. Pedersen,. our othletic coach,
