Shall our student body eontinue to
“rough it’ in the study hall beltween classes and at morning and
noon? This is the most serious prblem confronting us at present, and
has been a big problem for several
years. Let's show some action on the
eubjeet.
Miss Tayolr says, “The senior class
of 1928 cannot leave a better
memorial of itself to the Nevada
City—high school than a competent
system of senior control, that will
be ecarried/on by the other classles
when they become seniors. Such a
system would-do more good for the
school than al the tennis conrts or
money given it.’’
In a former issue of our
great deal was said about
eontrol, but there is no control system operating yet. On Tuesday we
acted very deporlably. and there was
no Control Conimittee to take
charge.
We need leaders and suggestions.
Someone must take charge to gét a
system started. Those having suggestions should let.the rest of us know
about them. It has been proposed
that a student body meeting be call-!
ed and the students. ‘‘hash’’ this

action.

ORDER PLAN SUGGESTED
Miss Whelan has

school in which she formerly taught. '
At the head of this control system
is the mayor, who is similar
student body president. With him in
charge the students make the laws,
and if they are disobeyed,
ders are brought before him. If the
offense cannot be handled by the
mayor, it is then taken to the *principal. A chief of police is elected
to enforce the laws and he appoints
several officers to assist him. So
