SHASTA COUNTY The Niagara mine west of French Gulch has a recent strike 1000 feet below surface that is creating great , interest. The ore is said to go $200 a ton. Mt. Shasta Siliea Company has 46 claims of 160° acres each. Steam shovels are used in operating. Will start as freight rates are arranged. Mt. Shasts Coal Company is making good progress. Aluminum igs also found in some of the clay deposits. Lineoln. potteries handle the clay. YOLO COUNTY The North Star Tunnel and Development Company have taken a/! lease and option on the Reed quicksilver mine. M. Grotoyohn is president. Myra Mines Companies have a working agreement. MARIPOSA COUNTY The work at the Feliciana mine of late has been drifting and stoping of ore on the 200 foot level. 16 men are employed.
