Miss Bertz isa sister of Mrs. Harley M. Leete, whose husband is 4
naval lieutenant now serving in the
Mediterranian. Franklin Tuttle is
son of late Justice and Mrs. Raglan
Tuttle. Prior to his appointment to
the third appellate court in Sacramento the late Jaistice was superior
judge of Nevada County for many
years.
Franklin Tuttle is studying law at
Hastings Law College and was sraduated. from Stanford University three
years ago. He. enlisted in the Marines
and received officer training at
Quantico, Virginia and had completed the course. when an injury received in boyhood, it was decided,
disqualified him, and he wag honorably. discharged. His brother Dick
Tuttle of the U: S. Air Force is a
prisoner of war.

Coroner Alvah Hooper and Deputy
Sheriff De Soto were called to make
an investigation after Earl Covey,

Mrs. Theresa M. Kiits, revered 82
Sacramento hospital early yesterday
morning. While death was not unexpected it came as a great shock to
family members. She suffered a
broken hip some time ago in a fall
and had-been afflicted severely from
the mishap. Mrs. Kitts was a native
of Monroe County, Missouri, and
came to Nevada City when 14 yearsi
of age. During girlhood she _ lived
with ‘her aunt, Mrs. Herrick of Indian Fiat.
She leaves the following sons, C.
Benton Ebaugh, and James E.
Bbaugh. Mrs. Kitts had made her!
home with a niece, Mrs. Thomas
Arden, for many years. She died
just 13 years to the day from the
date of the death of her late husband, Henry Kitts.
Funeral. services will be. conducted from. Holmes Funeral Home in
this city Thursday afternoon at two
o’clock. Interment will be in Pine
Grove Cemetery.
