Recipes For Stew
“Folks who sneer only show their
ignorance” is what our mammy done
told us—and that’s particularly true
of stew, for folks who sneer at
stew are tacitly admitting they’ve

the stewing art.
Really good stew is fit for a king

STREIW YOUR STEW WITH
Stew vegetables needn’t always
be potatoes and carrots. For new
stew slants try baby lima beans,
corn kernels, string beans cut matchstick size, fresh tomatoes ‘stead of
the canned kind, white turnips and
crisp cabbage. Add vegetables toward end of cooking period, only
just long enough to cook them crisp
and tender.
