labor and improvements upon and
for the benefit, development and improvement of the Golden Edna Placer Mining Claim. The location of this

consisted of continuation of the tunnel 18 feet through solid rock; 100

is president.
The committee will also assist the
mine owners and operators in the
development and marketing of their
minerals through the medium of government stockpiles or truckload purchasing depots and aid in the obtaining of roadwork, as well as to
work on legislation for the benefit
of strategic minerals, which are vitally needed in the conduct of the
war.
P. M. Millspaugh, who was named
secretary of the committee, said
county supervisors are close to the
people within their districts and
have intimate knowledge of local
conditions and those,in the mining
areas.are well acquainted with the
mineral situation in their territories,
which enables them to. cooperate
more closely with the individual mine
owners and prospectors thereby: obtaining information that would be

Deer Hunters Cooperate
In Keeping Down Fires,
According to reports received from
District Ranger J. R. Hodgson at
Big Bend Ranger Station, deer hunters are cooperating well in keeping
down fires. More hunters than in any
past season were on hand for the
first part of the season and a few
nice bucks were taken. Up to October 1, the bucks were laying in the
heavy brush and hunting has been . }
difficult. Until recently deer chécked
have all had horns in the _ velvet.
