to be a doctor.

‘HYMN BOOKS DONATED
FOR COUNTY HOSPITAL
A quiet campaign to provide hymn
books for those who live in the county hospital is meeting with success.
R. W. Rodda, superintendent of the
institution has been active in promoting the good work, the Rev. H.
H. Buckner and other clergymen
have given the movement ‘much attention. For a fifty cent donation any
donor may have his name. inseribed
in one of. the hymn books. Services
are held every Sunday afternoon by
alternating denominations, the Methodists of Grass Valley.and Nevada
City, the Salvation Army, the Trinity
and Emmanuel Episcopal churches,
the Lutherans, andthe Seventh Day
Adventists. The two latter usually
hold week day services. The Epworth
Leagues of the twin cities also take
their turn in conducting services at
the hospital. Hymn books were needed and.a joint campaign to provide
them is proving successful.

John T. Morgan homes on Pine
street on exactly the same plan as
the Legg home. The Searls home remains unchanged as built, the Morand a
