R. W. Rodda, superintendent of the institution has been active in promoting the good work, the Rev. H. H. Buckner and other clergymen have given the movement ‘much attention. For a fifty cent donation any donor may have his name. inseribed in one of. the hymn books. Services are held every Sunday afternoon by alternating denominations, the Methodists of Grass Valley.and Nevada City, the Salvation Army, the Trinity and Emmanuel Episcopal churches, the Lutherans, andthe Seventh Day Adventists. The two latter usually hold week day services. The Epworth Leagues of the twin cities also take their turn in conducting services at the hospital. Hymn books were needed and.a joint campaign to provide them is proving successful. SAN FRANCISCAN VISITS HOME OF GRANDPARENTS Mrs. Saul, Francisco wife of one of the San concerned in the purchase of the Nevada theatre came to Nevada City Thursday with her husband. Mrs. Saul asked to be taken to visit the George Legg home on Nevada street where she had visited men :Many times as a girl. Mrs. Saul is the {daughter of Mollie Hinds granddaughter of the late Hiram Hinds from whom the late H. F. Bradley bought the home in about 1875 and now occupied by the Gec. Leggs. The house was built by (a lumberman by the name of Jackson who also built the old Searles and John T. Morgan homes on Pine street on exactly the same plan as the Legg home.
