NEVADA COUNTY COURT HOUSE
CREDIT TO LINDGREN AND
SWINERTON
The newly remodeled and reconstructed Nevada County Court House
furnishes eloquent testimony, should
the same be needed, respecting the
concerted effort constantly being put
forth by Nevada County’s far-sighted
officialdom, and the thinking taxPayers generally, in an earnest endeavor to keep fully abreast of the
times.
In point of architectural beauty,
substantial construction and fpractical exterior and interior arrangement, this thoroghly modern building reflects well on the prosperous
twin cities and other communities
of Nevada County, and will long
stand as an enduring monument to
the credit of the nationally reputaable contracting firm, of Lindgren
and Swinerton Incorporated, whose
fine handiwork here, as elsewhere,
is not ‘infrequently a topic of animated conversation.
Building contrats of various kind
and description undertaken and efficiently and satisfactorily executed
by Lindgren and Swinerton with
promptness:and dispatch, within and
without the state of California, in
recent years, represent an aggregate
cost in excess of $50,000,000.00. Of
this work the imposing Standad Oil
Building in San Francisco heads the
list with a cash outlay of $5,100,000.00. The Pacific Telephone and
Telegraph Company’s Coast Division
‘Building, San Francisco, $4,200,000.00. California-Hawaiian Sugar Refining Company, Crockett, California,
$4,000,000.00. Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Honolulu, Hawaii, $3,000,000.00. %UHunter-Dulin . Building, San
Francisco, $2,500,000.00. Hotel Sir
Francis Drake, $2,San Francisco,
: 250,000,000. Four Fort Sutter Building, San Francisco, $3,100,000.00.
Adam Grant Building, San Francisco, $2,000,000.00. .American Can
Company Plant, Sacramento, $2,000,000.00.
Space will not here permit complete tabylation of the additional
extensive contracts painstakingly executed by Lindgren and Swinerton
in various sections of California and
beyond. Suffice to brieity. state, the
cost of these numerous buildings
varied from one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars to two million, seven hundred thousand dollars, and all, needléss to state, are
shining examples -of modern American imgenuity and time honored, inherent thrift and progression.
No wonder discerning local residents are glad, indeed proud, to link
the widely known trade name of
Lindgren and Swinerton Incorporated, with the construction of Nevada
County’s fine new Court House. Z.
