1—More strict licensing of airplanes as to structural qualifications
and of pilots as to ability to do agricultural Work.
2—Issuance of'a certificate of ability to do crop dusting and seeding
and knowledge of mcthods and essentials involved in performing this
work should be mandatory _ before
the United States department of commerce grants a license. to do this
work. Such a certificate of ability
should be obtained from the California state department of agriculture.
This would be construed as being in
conflict with requirements on crop
dusting now in effect in some counties,

Star Point Night
For Evangeline Chapter
The first Star Point aight given
by Evangeline Chapter, No. 9, O. E.
S., in recent years, was given Sep‘ember 19.
To Mrs. Frank Davies, chairman
of the committee for the evening, is
chiefly due the credit for the success of this most enjoyable occasion.
Georgeous fall flowers were used for
decorations.
After the regular chapter meéting
was over guests were introduced.
Among them were star points from
Dutch Flat, Colfax Auburn, = and
Grass Valley and the Deputy Grand
Matron Mrs. Ellen Cayot of Dutch
Flat, Mrs. Louise Delius ,worthy matron of Ditch Flat; Mrs. Laura May
West of Bethany Chapter; and Mrs.
Nellie. Mitchell of Grass Valley, all
made short talks.

following: Vocal Solo, Mrs. Lyda Talbot; Vocal Solo, Mrs. Katherine Celio; Reading, by Mrs. Lottie Eden;’

Worthy Patron, after which Mr. Stenger turned the evening over to Mrs.
Frank Davis.
The 75 guests and members were
invited into a most artistically decorated banquet room. Each table was
decorated in flowers the color

. Dainty refreshments of crab cocktails, cheese sandwiches, cake and
coffee were served.
