late Jeremiah Daniel Coughlan who
passed away while asleep Tuesday

Tony Rore, T. Rundy and Baptiste
Toccalini.
Deceased was well known through
out Nevada county having hundreds
of friends made during his long life
as an active citizen of the county.
He was of pioneer stock being ,the
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel
Coughlan, of the Allison Ranch section.
Throughout his* life Mr. Coughlan had been a highly’ respected
citizen of Nevada City. At the age of
fourteen he began earning his own
in the mines and later
worked for the Nevada County Narrow Gauge railway company and
continued in its employ until his retirement in 1931 at which time he
had been with the company for 49
years. At the time of his retirement
he was engineer for the company.
Mr. Coughlan was very active in
Nevada City civic affairs and was
always helpful in those things which
were for the betterment of the community. His late wife was the former Miss Kitty Clancy whom he
married more than forty years ago.
He worked

Coughlan of Auburn, both men

counties, and two sisters, Miss Mary
Coughlan of Grass Valley and Mrs.
