Dear 'Folks—Here’s just a friendly
letter. I saw Bob’s name in the paper
so thought I’d write and tell what
I’m doing. I have done lots of traveling since I left Nevada City in January. From Monterey I went to Florida for three weeks. From there I
went to Chanute Field, Illinois for
three months. In June I came here
. 20 months, receiving promotion and

Elwood Farnsworth—
Elwood Farnsworth, first class
pharmicist mate, arrived in Nevada
(City at nine o’clock Thursday evening and surprised his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Farnsworth of this
city. He has been in the South Pacific Isles, area and gone from home
one stripe, for submarine duty. Elwood. is home on a 30 day furlough
and is enjoying meeting many friends.

there after the war is over., They
sure won’t seé me in any of those
overseas countries after this war is
over. The good old U. S. will be sure
good to see. :
I hope we can get into some more
action pretty soon as this place is
getting montonous.

story building -on Prospect, street
known as the old Hugh ‘Murchie
house. It will be used as a rental
property.
Les Hubbard, former local police
officer; now in the U. S. Navy on
Treasure Island, spent the past week
end in Nevada City visiting his wife
and son.
Mrs. Lucille Krough, and daughter of Sacramento is enjoying a visit
