States Department of Commerce
Standard C. S. 12-35 grade No. five
(5) and bids must specify a guaranteed price per gallon, or per 42
gallon barre], delivered in tanks at
the respective school buildings in

Calif., is being named Mayor of
Treasure Island by Dr. Charles H. Strub, the Golden Gate International Exposition’s managing director, after Mrs. Wilson wandered
through the turnstiles to be clocked off as the 5,000,000th visitor.
It was a surprise to her, a pleasure for Strub to greet the woman
whose gate entrance made history.

Miss Frances Pryor of Walnut
Grove is spending the week end and
Labor Day holiday in Nevada City
with her sister Mrs. Ed Martine and
Ed Martine. She has just completed
a second tour of the United States.
She left Berkeley and went by train
via Portland, to Chicago and Pontiac
taking delivery of a new car at the
latter city. Her aunt -joined her in
Berkeley and they visited Niagara
Falls, Callendar, Canada, to see the
quintuplets. then down the Atlantic
seaboard to Washington, D. C., New
York world’s fair and on into the
southern states. They went to New
Orleans, thence north to visit many
national parks among ‘them being
Rushmore where , three presdent’s
heads are carved into a bluff; the
Bad Lands, Yellowstone, Glacier and
again into Canada to visit Lake
Louise and Banff. Old time friends
were visited in Washington and from
there to Grand Coulee dam, down
the Columbia highway on through
the redwoods along the California
coast. They traveled over 9,000 miles
after leaving Pontiac and went
through 34 states. In continuing this
trip Miss Pryor has visited every
‘state in the Union.
