Hoskin Marry in Trinity Episcopal Church Trinity Episcopal church. was the setting Sunday afternoon, Aug: 27, at 2 o’clock for the marriage of Miss Alice Hansen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Hansen, Boulder street, to Elmer Donald Hoskin, son of John Hoskin, Commercial street. The vows were taken before a beautifully decorated altar of white gladioli and candelabra, with Rev. Max L. Christensen, rector of the church, presiding. The bride, gowned in an ankle length white bridal gown, finger tip veil which was held in place by a bandeau of white orange blossoms which was worn by her mother on her wedding day 21 years ago. White shoes with silver buckles which were also worn by her mother and a bouquet of white roses and bouvardia, centered with a pale lavender orchid, completed her attire. She was escorted to the altar by her father. : She--was.preceded down_ the . aisle by little Miss Carol. Ann Mullis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Mullis, as flower girl. She was dressed in a beautiful little blue satin formal and carried a little basket of petals. Master William Willers was the ring bearer carrying the rings on a litle heart-shaped satin pillow. He is the son if Mr. and Mrs. Charles Willers of Willow Valley. Miss Barbara Girouard, maid of honor, daughter of Mrs. Willers, was gowned in a blue net ankle length formal and carried an old fashioned bouquet of ‘blue asters. Bridesmaids were Miss Ruth Imus, gowned in pink; Miss Patsy Humphrey, gowned in yellow; and Miss Joyce Phillips, gowned in green. All carried old fashioned bouquets to match the gowns, which were identical to the dress of the bride. The groom was attended by James Lewis. Mervyn Hansen Jr., brother of the bride, Jack Hoskin, brother of the groom, and William E. Mullis, were ushers. The reception was held in the parish hall, where a very beautiful wedding cake was tended by Mrs. Charles Cunningham,, Petaluma, aunt of the bride. Cake, punch and coffee were served, with Gloria Larson, Patricia Burgin, Dorotha Smart, Dolores Townsend, Gloria Baker and Lillie Sassamon serving. Miss Beverly Boucher attended the bride’s book. The mother of the bride wore a grey suit. with green .accessories and wore a gardenia corsage. Mrs. Carmen Hoskin, aunt of the groom, wore a white two-piece dress, black accessories and carnations. Guests from out-of-town _included Mrs. August Hansen, Livermore, grandmother of _ the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Evans of Bakersfield; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Creager, Ray and Yvonne, Livermore; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thorpe, Sacramento; Mr. and Mrs. Kurd Tapone and Kathryn, Richmond; Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Cunningham, Mr. and Mrs. Fieckers and Tommie, Eileen and Diane, Petaluma; and Mrs. Ruth Campbell, Truckee. Buy a Share in the P. P. Railway HOSPITALIZED Mrs. W. O. Shipley left. Wednesday for an indefinite stay in Sutter hospital, Sacramento, and Dr. Kanner will endeavor to diagnose her case as she has been ill for quite some time. Eastern Star Makes Plans For Fall and Winter in First Meeting Tuesday Evagneline Chapter No. 9, Order of the Eastern Star, met last Tuesday at the Masonic Temple for the first initiation and the second regular business meeting of the fall season. Mr. and ‘Mrs. Charles Elliott, Worthy Patron and Worthy Matron, presided. Mrs. Marie Thurston, Vérnon; Mrs. Edna Martine, Maxwell; Mrs. George Avery, Santa Barbara and Nadine Woods of Lincoln were among the visiting guests present. é Verne Miller, Associate Patron . ‘of Aurora Chapter, Grass Valley, and his wife, Evelyn, who holds the office of Ada there, spoke a few words at the meeting. Nancy Land donated beautiful flowers from her gardens to decorate the chapter room, and As. sociate Matron Edith Forstner presented Mrs. Elliott with a corsage: Mrs. Jane Sommers, the newly initiated -meémber, looked striking in her navy blue dinner dress and the huge orchid she wore. Two members were welcomed back. Mrs. Myrtle Weiss, who has been ill, and Mrs. Florence Harter, who.has moved back. to her home in Nevada City, were the returning officers. A beautifully decorated table was arranged for the 18 members whose birthdays fell in June, July and August. A small gift box lay before each plate, containing a key ring with the Star insignia attached to it. The birthday cake was brought in to the group accompanied by the singing of “Happy Birthday to You.” Wayne Kistle, freshman at Nevada City high school, played the accordion as members were seated at their table to enjoy the refreshments planned by Mrs. Bradley Legg and her committee. Miss Patricia Sturtevant, a recent graduate of Nevada City high school, and daughter of Mrs. H. A. Sturtevant, entertained the assembly in the banquet room with her monologue, “Tea With Mother.” She followed this with a parody on “The Girl That I Married.” ; The next meeting will be the “Friendship” night to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19. Wishart Are Married in Carmel Miss Juanita Joy Wright; Auburn and formerly of Nevada City. nd William J. Wishart, Carmel exchanged marriage vows Sunday in the Church of the Wayfarer, Carmel. Rev. Gray, pastor of the church, officiated. The little church was decorated with white chrysanthemums and stock, and lighted by candles. Relatives and close friends of the bridal pair witnessed the ceremony, and attended the reception. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and, Mrs. .Stanley A. Wright, Auburn, and was given in marriage by her father. A wide sash tied in a full bow at the back and a crisply folded fich decollette neckline were features of the bridal gown, which was of sheer white nylon over white taffeta. White nylon mitts and a fingertip veil falling from a Juliet cap entwined with pearls completed the bridal costume. Her, bouquet was colonial style, white carnations, sweet peas and stepanotie tied with white streamers. Mrs. John Parks, Benicia, her sister, was matron of ‘honor. She wore a lime green taffeta gown with Bertha neckline and an overskirt of green marquisette, white mitts and a halo headdress of ruffled green.
