The enrollment this year is said to compast. 1" Miss “Leschinsky “~alse~--plans.to organize teams in various sports uch as tennis, hockey, baseball, -GIRL’S ATHLETICS This year, Miss Leschinsky, the girls’ physical education instructor pianned to work out a.well formulated program for girls’ athletics. The girls are required to wear reulation unifoms, which are slightly different from those worn in ‘the and possibly basket-ball. Although it is impossible for the pare very favorably with ‘the enroll: ment at this time last year. There will:probably be a few late enrollments which will add to this number. The teaching staff has the work Education caused the building and grounds to be in excellent condition for the opening day. Both. teachers and pupils are proud of their nice clean building and appreciate the money and effort which was spent. The teaching staff has th ework well in hand and both teachers and pupils are happy in the work. A fine spirit of cooperation prevails between faculty and pupils. The following organizations are already beginning to function: the four class organizations, a Girl's League, Athletic Association, and Students Association .An Honor Society is to be organized in the very near future. The Freshman and Senior class is taking advantage of the faet that it is Admission Day todiuy--which means a legal holiday, and is having class picnics. All pupils, and in the Senior and Freshman classes deserve considerable credit for excellent planning and conduct at the Freshman initiaton Friday afternoon and evening. On behalf of the facu!ty, I desire to thank the many parents and friend, for their attendance at the initiation program, and for the many good wishes extended. More than 300 perons were present and thoroughly enjoyed the progam. B. F. Wilson, Principal. WE FRESHMEN Well, here we are. back to the -old grind again-——but it is a new “old grind’, a new course of study, new teachers, new suroundings and new friends. Our class has enlarged. out somewhat because there are many from the outlying districts. We now number 37. A business meeting was held August 29 for the election of officers. Treasurer We all know that these people will try to carry out the class duties to the best of their ability. At this meeting it was move’ and seconded that we arranre 2 class picnic. Ruth Rector, Katherine Celio, and Bill Sharpe were .appointed by the President, Bob Tucker, to serve on the food commitiee. Florence Cerro, Delbert Shiffner and John Sbaffi are to have charge of the entertainment. Plans are now being made for the first social gathering of the Freshmen. The time and place has not as yet been definitely decided on. The Seniors must give the Freshman class a word of praise for the sportsmanlike way, in which they conducted themselves, throughthe initiation progam. SOPHOMORE CLASSS MEET The Sophomore class held first meeting, August 29th, for the purpose of electing <class officers. Gladys Clark was chosen president. Donald Macari, vice president; Fae Murphy, seeretary; and Edgar Da vey, treasurer. The matter of dues Was settled and is to be $1.00 per year. Plans were made for coming events. .
