MISS ELIZABETH a MR. ARNOLD MURCHIE WED -Two of Nevada City’s best loved young people plighted their troth Friday evening when Miss Elizabeth Buckner wed Mr. Arnold Murchie at a quiet wedding at the Methodist parsonage, Rev. H. H. ~ Buckner, father of the bride, performing the ceremony. Miss Ruth Tamblyn was bridesmaid and Mr. Carl Murchie attended his brother as best man. The song, “At Dawning’’ was beautifully sung by Mrs. Herbert J. Nile, accompanied by Miss Minnie Brand. Following a short honeymoon the young couple will make their home here. The bride is a graduate of the local schools and of the Preble Business College in Sacramento.. The groom who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R Murchie is a graduate of the local schools and the. University of California. He is a trusted member of the staff of the ioeal braneh of the Bank of America. Both young people have a host vt friends who will wish them every happiness in their journey through life. MISS MARY RONDONI WEDS ALLAN GRACEY A surpise wedding the past weel: wes that of Miss Mary Rondoni and Mr. Allan Gracey who trekked to Reno to plight their troth Saturday. After a short honeymoon they will return here to make their home. The bride for some years past has followed. the profession of nuring and has a large circle of friends. The groom is the son. of Mr. and Mrs. William Gracey and following his graduation from the local high school attended the University of Nevada and of California. He is connected with the Forest Service offices and has many friends who will extend to him and his bride every wish for a happy life. The young couple were attended by Mrs. Anna Ford and Mr. Richard Noell, who accompanied them to the Nevada metropolis. The party came up froin San Francisco Friday night on one of the Califdrnia Transportation boats. to Sacramento. The Mark, Past and Most Excellent degrees were conferred Saturday afternoon at Downieville and the Royal Arch in the evening by the city fraters. Accompanying tne -party were Grand Lecturer Daniel B. Richards and Grand Royal <Arch Captain Claude M. Marckley of San Fran‘cisco. Both expect to be at Auburn ; next week when the official visit of Grand High Priest Angus L. Cavanagh will be made to the 7th District, Saturday evéning, September i 21st. ‘ SIERRA COUNTY ACCIDENT The Jefford ambulance was taken to Sierra county early Saturday morning for an auto party which ‘had gone over the grade on the Brandy City road from Indian Va!ley and brought the injured persons to Grass Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Murphy of Modesto and Willian. Maloney of Downieville were enroute to Nevada City when the aecident occurred at a steep place. Mrs. Murphy has serious internal injuies while her husband suffered several broken ribs. Maloney escaped practically unscathed.
