Four newsboys for The Citizen won trips through the generosity of our Publisher. .and everyone had an exciting time.. ; : # # # ABSOLUTELY the most fun of all was watching the spectators..Talk about gate crashers..thereserved seat takers were more fun. .especially the ones who were most pompous and felt that they had reserved the whole area for themselves, and acted just that way, ..onlyto be removed by the real owners..and we saw one lady that practically had apoplexy when she was told, most sweetly, to get out! ### THE HOCKEY GAMES were most exciting..To see Germany lose to Russia was rather disheartening..but the strangest thing that we happened to notice was--the Russians very rarely smiled..even when they scored,.there was no sign of pleasure, merelya stony, stoic, stare. The competition between the Canadians andthe United States was a wonderful example of sportsmanship.. good keen competition. .a good fellowship is maintained..the air was full of fine feelings..so different from the coldness in the previous game. ##HThere were plenty of mink coats, stretch pants, ski boots, after ski boots, parkas, and high heels..Interesting what people © will wear..understand that the biggest game that took place, was grading stretch pants .on the number of wrinkles that occurred with each stepthe wearer took (gals, of course). .points were deducted for each wrinkle, and the scorers had a happy job appraising each wearer. been spent this year on ski clothes in this area than ever before, and probably every skishop incaptivity will spend the next three years trying to collect the debts owed to them..Oh, well, guess that's what makes our economy hang together..Togetherness in debt, paid up, we fall. : # # # There is little more to say about the "Games "they are over and done with.. the Russians take the honors for high points..But the ability to skate by the female gender remains in the United States. .At least our girls are feminine.. And we may thank heavens for that.. Seems like femininity should reign over athletic prowess anyway..What man wants to goout witha muscle bound, calf bulging woman, and parade her around when a bit of curvy fluff in his arms is more appetizing? Seems that a woman can put on a bit of weight, and maybe not be as delectible as she was when she was 18, but let her outshine Her husband in some sport, andregardless of her ability, she does not rate the extra niceties that go to her feminine counterpart. . We have philosophized about this and that today, sowe go away to think about what we will write next week..Maybe maybe not..but with Great Men's Birthdays taking us away from our task, we now await Easter, with the thought that there will be a brighter, better day, somewhere.
