Truckee Lodge #200 F.A.M. received a charter on October 16, 1869; Donner Chapter #39 : R.A.M. was chartered:in April of 1872; Donner mm, Lodge #162 I.0.0.F. was chartered on July 21, 1869. These are but a few of the lodges instigated in the early years of the town. DRS ES ER ER DR SRR OS This rocking stone enclosed in a tower at Truckee is one of the 25 known rocking stones in the world. In the late 1880’s C.F. McGlashan built a museum over the stone to house Donner Party artifacts. His house beside it, burned in 1935 and the museum fell into disrepair. The artifacts were transferred Depot at TRUCKEE 1868, shows 5 wood burning elsewhere and in the late 1950’s the present tower Locomotives in service of the Central Pacific. was built (pictured).
