Pictures show the towns of
Nevada County and the activity in
them during 1877. Nevada City
with many of the buildings still in
service. The Court House and
Blaze’s Saloon facing the planked
Pine Street in front of the Masonic
Temple. The County Hospital
which grew larger and now houses
County Offices. Nevada City’s
Union Hotel now gone but in its
day, as it says, ‘The Leading Hotel”.
Grass Valley had its cigar factory.
F.C. Lentje, the jeweler, has bought the
building on Broad Street now occupied
by Dr. Charles, Kornhammer, Leutje
and Brand.
The Dutch Flat Forum says: G.W. Hill
has opened a store in Little York, and is
supplying that burg with groceries, dry
goods, etc. The hotel formerly kept by
Mrs. Robb has been purchased by J.
King.

New Restaurant Mrs. Hovardson has
opened a restaurant on Commercial
Street, next door to Mrs. Black’s
vegetable store, where she is prepared
to serve meals at all hours for 25 cents
each.
Milwaukee Beer Warranted PureRoger Conlan, Milwaukee Beer Depot,
Broad Street. Also, the best home
brewed beer from Dreyfuss Brewery.
Persons asking for credit will be
refused.
It Is Enough To make anyone crazy to
run a grocery store in this city. Don’t
eat so much more than you can pay for.
It is just as easy to keep even with the
world, as a month behind. If you can’t
