Holidays 1877
New Year Monday was duly observed
as a holiday. Many ladies kept Open
House and received their friends and
acquaintances. The day was glorious,
everybody was cordial and happy.

birds choose their mates in February,
and for that reason people send
Valentines. Whether any mates were

certain most people sent Valentines.

South.

would be the correct thing for stuffing.
Christmas December 25th, 1877 The
orphans under the care of the Sisters of

organizations were right in there. Most
