Before the day of the Internet,
fax machines, and wireless or
cordless phones, people were
amazed by such state-of-theart technology as this telephone. It could be operated
easily by anyone who could
tell the operator the name of a
person connected to the line,
and you could browse the
neighborhood by listening in.
This doll house, completely furnished with tiny replicas of
19th century household
appliances, furniture, and decorations, is a modern creation,
donated to the Firehouse
Museum by the artist-builder.
Scale model of a
street car once
operated by the
Nevada County
Traction Company
to transport local
folks between
Grass Valley and
Nevada City.
