PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Greetings Society Members,
The make-up of the Society Board of Directors is always relatively static, with some Board members being members for decades!
Thankfully, no term limits are required in our Bylaws! However, we
occasionally are pleased to welcome “aboard” new members and I’m
delighted to introduce two new such members.
We have been seeking a volunteer to fill our Public Relations position
for many years and are excited to have Brittany Fischer step up to
help in this important role. She hails from Orangevale, CA having relocated recently to Nevada City area. Like many of
us, she enjoys a niche interest in California history or that of gold mining! Well, she certainly
did land in the epicenter of mining history in the
western US for sure! She reports a passion and
expertise in metal detector use, so I’m anxious
to invite Brittany out to my place to locate that
stash of gold coins I just know that Black Bart
buried somewhere on my three acres! She brings
expertise in the use of social media and perhaps you have already
viewed her promotional work for the Society on Facebook which has
included short video clips on our museums...just in time for the recent
Spring openings!
Dom Lindars is another newly appointed director assuming the
responsibilities of Membership Director and Website. He moved to
