COLUMBIA HILL.—Thirty-four votes were polled at this place, 16 of which were secesh. NORTH BLOOMFIELD.—37 votes cast—8 secesh. ROUGH & READY.—120 votes polled—Union 78, secesh 42. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1863 WINE MAKING.—Josiah Rogers, whose vineyard is on American Hill, finished making wine last week. He has made two thousand gallons this year, and has built a nice wine vault to keep it in. SHOT.—John Dennis, better known as El Dorado Johnny, formerly barkeeper in the El Dorado saloon in this place, was shot and instantly killed by Langford Peel, at Virginia city, on Saturday last. No particulars are given. Johnny was on the shoot and died in his own cause. THE MORE THE MERRIER.—We learn that the Rev. Mr. Davis, a Baptist Minister, has been engaged by the society in this place and will soon take up his residence here. COLORED CHURCH.—We learn from the right source to be true, that the colored brethren in this city are making preparations for the speedy erection of a church. They have owned a lot for a long time on Pine street, near the residence of J. M. Hixon. The lumber is already paid for and other material provided for erecting the building on the lot, and without delay. A church in that part of the town will be a new thing and we hope a shining light.
