172 DECEMBER 19, 20, 22, 1863 NEVADA TRANSCRIPT RICH LEAD.— Our friend M. H. Funston, formerly of this city has struck a big lead at Reese River, according to the Reveille. It says: “the Emma Funston ledge is situated on the south side of Lander Hill. . .. The quality of the rock taken out has been sufficiently tested by a recent crushing at the Fountain mill when it yielded $2,700 to the ton. ... Hughes, of the Nevada Sash Factory, has so many orders on hand that he is compelled to run his mill night and day. He is enabled with his new machinery to turn out work as fast as it is wanted. SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20, 1863 The Grass Valley Union Guards have tendered an invitation to the Nevada Light Guards to join them in their parade on New Year’s day. A fine collation is to be served up at their Armory in Grass Valley. IT is estimated that the money already paid in by drafted men amounts to $9,000,000, which it is expected will be increased one or two millions more. It will be appropriated to recruiting under the new proclamation of the President. Notice. WHEREAS, my wife, Catharine McNicholl, has left my bed and board without cause or provocation, now therefore I do hereby give notice to all persons, that I forbid any one harboring her on my account, as I will not pay any debts of her contracting, after this date.
