The Marshal has his force—the chain gang—at work filling up the bottomless portions of this highway with earth. SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 1863 A WORD ABOUT OURSELF.—Simonton, the Washington correspondent of the Bulletin, writes that he had heard it intimated in New York that Sargent had ruled himself definitely out of the next Congress by an understanding with us that if we would do our best to secure his election to the Senate he would not stand in our way this summer for Congress.
