NEVADA GAZETTE MAY 9 & 10, 1865 239 COUNTY COURT—MAY TERM 1865—HON. A. C. NILES PRESIDING.—This Court met yesterday morning, when the following business was transacted: Joseph Jaiton [sic] —Arraigned and given till Wednesday of this week to plead. Chung Lin—Enters plea of not guilty; trial set for May 10th. J. McDonald—Enters plea of not guilty; trial set for May 16th. D. A. Howard and J. Ford—Trial set for May 15th. Josiah Dodge—Continued for the term. George Sneath—Indicted for crime of grand larceny—under two indictments; to be arraigned this morning. APPOINTMENT.—Hank Knerr has been appointed City Marshal of Austin, Nevada. Hank is an old citizen of this place, and is well qualified for the position. WEDNESDAY, MAY 10, 1865 WANTS TO SELL.—Sam. T. Oates wants to sell one-fifth of the Pennsylvania mine and mill. It is a splendid mining property, and will afford a good investment for capital. BOND FILED.— Yesterday George S. Pierce filed his bond in the sum of $10,000 for the proper performance of his duties as City Marshal, upon which, it is understood, he will enter to-day. ICE CREAM.—A. R. Jenkins has opened his Ice Cream Saloon for the season, and will serve the delicious stuff in a style to please the palates of the most fastidious. Don’t forget to call at Jenkins’s saloon and try a dish. LARGE CONTRIBUTIONS.—At the Sanitary meeting held at Grass Valley on Sunday night last, which was addressed by Rev. Mr. Chapin and Hon. D. Belden, a sum of over nine hundred dollars was contributed and subscribed to the Sanitary cause. TRIAL JURORS.—The following are the names of the trial jurors summoned for the present term of the County Court: Franklin Bates, E. W. Barnum, D. W. Morehouse, George Chester, M. H. Cassin, William Eddy, Jacob Dritt, A. B. Carley, E. P. Larrabee, C. F. Robinson, O. S. Holbrook, John Williams, J. A. Chesnut, C. Richmond, Horace Ferree [sic], J. M. Levey, J. G. Kopf, F. Armour.
