imprisonment in the State Prison.

was appealed from this county, have reversed the decision and ordered a new trial. This case has excited a
good deal of interest in this place and the vicinity of Grass Valley.

REV. W. F. SNOW, Pastor of the Congregational Church at Grass Valley, preached his farewell
sermon on Sunday last. We are informed it was a fine effort, full of pathos and deep feeling over the
separation from his congregation, which had become strongly attached to him. Mr. Snow starts for the
East this week, and will leave many warm friends outside as well as inside of his church circle. We hope
he may never find worse friends than those he is about to separate from.
