462 SEPTEMBER 9, 1865 NEVADA TRANSCRIPT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1865 THE ELECTION RETURNS.—The election returns come in slowly. We doubt if any correct figures can be obtained until the Supervisors commence to canvass the votes. They meet for this purpose on next Monday. The majorities for the Union nominees are from two hundred to eight hundred. THE STATE.—-As far as heard from the regular Union ticket has won in Shasta, Sierra, Sutter, Yuba, Butte, Tehama, Nevada, Placer, Alpine, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, Alameda and Los Angeles. In El Dorado the Union Assembly ticket is elected but the Democrats have the Senator and most of the county offices. In Siskiyou the vote is close. The Legislative delegation is divided in San Francisco between the People’s Party and Democrats. Sonoma is Democratic. SACRAMENTO ELECTION.—The Sacramento Union says that with the exception of Coroner and Treasurer, who were elected on the Regular Union ticket, the entire Fusion nominees were elected in that county. DR. W. J. KNOX, an old resident of this city, is elected State Senator on the Union ticket from Santa Clara county. GEORGE HEARST, an old resident of this county, has been elected to the Assembly from San Francisco. He is a Democrat. GEN. MEAGHER has been appointed Secretary of Montana Territory. THE NEW THEATER.—The new Theater will be opened on next Monday night by one of the best Companies that ever visited this city. Dan Setchell will appear in one of his pieces and the Worrell Sisters also appear. They are sustained by a splendid Company of eighteen persons. The scenery will be all finished and the Company will be able to produce their pieces under the most favorable circumstances. Singer Manufacturing Co. Sewing Machines, No. 139 Montgomery Street, San Francisco. 75,000 MACHINES SOLD IN TWO YEARS! THE almost incredible increase in the sale of the Singer Machine during the past two years is owing to the popularity of the Letter A Traverse Shuttle Family Machine, which was introduced in 1860, since which time it has earned and established a reputation for family uses equal to the celebrated manufacturing Machines of this firm, which are generally acknowledged even by dealers in other sewing machines, to be unequalled for such purposes. No other Family Sewing Machine has such perfect and improved appliances for Ruffling, Hemming, Binding, Felling, Tucking, Gathering, Guaging [sic], Braiding, Cording, Quilting, etc. All persons requiring information about our Sewing Machines, their Sizes, Prices, Working Capacities, and the best Method of Purchasing, can obtain it by sending for a copy of the Singer Manufacturing Company’s ILLUSTRATED PAMPHLET, Which is entirely devoted to the subject. It will be sent gratis with specimens of work. LOCAL AGENTS WANTED IN EVERY TOWN. WILLIAM BRODERICK. General Agent for Singer Manf’g Co.
