© 2013 David Allan Comstock All Rights Reserved Published by Comstock Bonanza Press PO Box 1479 Cedar Ridge, CA 95924-1479 Phone (530) 263-2906 Website: http://comstockbonanza.com Email: [email protected] FIRST PRINTING ISBN 978-0-933994-56-0 This is the fourteenth volume in a series that is intended to encompass the years 1850-1869. Much of this information was harvested during the writing of The Nevada County Chronicles trilogy, but this early work has been augmented by more recent forays into the world of microfilm. Brackets around statements (or individual words) indicate where I have added information to the original account— or where I have summarized or paraphrased the exact wording. Ellipses (a series of three or four dots thus: . . . . ) have been inserted wherever words, sentences or whole paragraphs have been omitted. I inserted bracketed names when I knew who was being talked about, and where I was not positive, I added a question mark inside the brackets. Occasionally, where place names were altered during a relatively short time, I have added the later name in brackets alongside the earlier one. (For instance, Nevada City’s “Coyote” Street was renamed “Washington” Street for a year or two, but when a different Washington Street popped up on the north side of the court house it resumed its original identity.)
