CEMENT MILLS.—We are informed that Clay & Co., who are working a cement claim at Hunt’s
Hill, have lately struck the pay lead, and are now taking out very rich cement, and in considerable
quantities. Their mill, which has been idle for some time, from various causes, will be started
immediately. Cozzens & Garber, whose mill is situated between Red Dog and You Bet, have been
crushing extraordinary rich cement during the past week or two and expect to make a big clean-up this
week.
TEMPERANCE.—A temperance meeting will be held at the Baptist Church this evening, by the
Lodge recently organized in this place. The public are invited to attend. The officers elect of the Lodge,
we believe, are to be installed on the occasion.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31, 1866
CATHOLIC CHURCH.—A fine new building being erected by the Catholic Church at Dutch Flat,
is now almost completed. It is a capacious building, and adds greatly to the appearance of the town. The
Enquirer says it will not be formally dedicated until next May, but service will be held there prior to that
time.
