TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 1870 DIED. At Grass Valley, Dec. 12th, 1870. HENRY C. ROBERTS, aged 26 years, . month and 2 days, a native of Circleville, Ohio. Circleville and Columbus, Ohio, papers please copy.) DEATH OF HENRY C. ROBERTS .—It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Harry Roberts. He was one of the accomplished, useful, genial, charitable enterprising and thoroughly sensible young men of our town. His death will be long regretted by many and many friends of this place. The announcement of Harry’s death, yesterday afternoon, on the streets, caused a sadness which is seldom equaled in degree, by such announcements. Deceased was a native of Ohio and has been for a long time connected with the banking house of Findley & Co., of this place. He held the office of Town Treasurer of Grass Valley, at the time of his decease, and had been almost unanimously elected to that place for two terms. This fact is mentioned only to show the estimation to which he was held in this town. we can write no eulogy for Harry Roberts; to us, individually, he was more than friend, and almost brother. The turf will rest lightly on the tomb of the noble boy. . . . The remains of Henry C. Roberts will be taken to Oakland, where his parents reside, for interment. The remains will be taken to Colfax, at 1 o’clock this afternoon, and meanwhile friends of the deceased can call at Mrs. McLeod’s, corner of Main and Church streets.
