State Sets Record For Farm Income California farmers in 1959 received in excess of $3 billion, a new record for the Nation and the state. The Department of Agriculture
said no other state. has reached this mark. In setting the new record, and retaining its long established position as the Nation’s most important agricultural state, the department pointed out that the $3 billion figure does not “tival tell a true story of California’s agricultural prosperity because production costs and the operation of the “‘costprice squeeze” have ‘kept down the farmers’ true income. NON-THEATRICAL FILMS TO COMPETE IN SAN FRANCISCO For the first time San Francisco’s International Film Festival will offer nine Golden Gate Award prizes in a 16-mm_non-theatrical film competition, it was announced this week. Awards will be made to the best 16-mm films in nine categories.
