2 The Neves County Nugget — John Gallegos has resigned as executive manager of -the Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, Fred Conway, president, read the letter of resignation at a meeting held Thursday in the conference room of the courthouse annex, Directors accepted. the resignation with regret and ex4 pressed appreciation to Gallegos for the good job he has” done, and for leadership he has given the chamber. The letter read as follows: "It is with mixed emotions that I tender my resignation. As per our contract I am giving you a three-month notice, The avenues we have explored together, the many successful projects we have completed and those we have been unable to start, leave me with a deep desire to see that this chamber continues. Nevada county is truly a good place to live, I have made many friends here and am sure that they will remain. so for the rest of my life, ‘I. wish to express my thanks to you for your cooperation and confidence." Gallegos became the first executive-manager when the county promotional group was organized more than four years ago. He came to Nevada county from’ the Paramount Chamber of Commerce. ais Supervisors «directed. the formation of the chamber: to replace the board of trade which formerly handled promotional matters for. the county. They have asked approval of $34,369 to operate the chamber if it continues with an executive manager. Ifthe chamber is to operate without a manager directors estimate it will cost $19,675. Six directors, all incumbents, were nominated to fill terms which are expiring. The election will be held next month.
