A $31,000 damage action
charging fraud and misrepresentation in connection with the
alleged sale of the Water Wheel
Park: in Cherry Creek Acres
has been filed in Superior Court.
Joseph J. and Phyllis Hubra
are seeking the amount from
Richard and Barbara LaRue.

that they induced them to purchase the Water Wheel Park, a
seasonal recreational facility
located on 7.90 acres.
The LaRues, according to the
complaint, alleged that the business earned a net profit of
$2,000 per month; enjoyed the
good will of public support and
that the county had issued the
LaRues a transferable use permit to operate the park. The
complaint contends that such
representations were false and
fradulent.
The Hubras ask for special
damages of $6,500 which include
an alleged $4,000 down payment
on the property. They ask
$25,000 exemplary damages and
costs of suit.

The William Bursill family started their Easter holiday
off with a real party. On Palm Sunday the children were all
home, There were games on the lawn and a big buffet lunch.
The best part of it all was the get-together baptism of 12 members
of the family. Two mothers and 10 grandchildren were baptized.
The grandchildren began with Miss Tammy Brooker just a few
short months old and included to around 10 years old. What a
wonderful. way to start the joyous season of everlasting life.
Rev. Leps must have been thrilled and certainly busy. The
grandchildren included Loretta, Ray, and Tadd Cowell, Butchie,
Jeffrey, and Randy Heller, and Dottie and Kathy Freitas. There
was a young cousin Jody included whose last name I did not get.
They also celebrated Penny's (Miss Penny Nyce) birthday.
Penny is still attending college. Grandmother Clara Bursill
who has been so ill said she felt fine. She assured me the girls
did all the work. And they say modern youngsters have no sense
of home ties, This family certainly proves some of the good old
fashioned virtues are still with us.
The Bursills' oldest sen, Bill, added to the days pleasure
with his latest accomplishments, Bill, who is attending Hayward
State, has been on the Dean's List for outstanding grades the
last two quarters, Bill, who had been working at the State School
for the Deaf, is attending school full time this year, His major
is recreation but he has a secondary major in Sociology. When
he completes his studies, he has a job waiting with the YWCA,
Bill's wife, Mary Louise, is already teaching action!

"1 Helen" can be seen everyday now around Rough and
Ready. Mrs. Helene Hurlbut of Helenes' Antiques is really
ecology minded. She wanted to do her bit for smog control
with a special Helene license plate but Helene was already
assigned so she settled for 1 Helen, This is Rough and Ready's
‘first (1 Rough and Ready) but I'm sure it won't be our last
contribution to such an excellent cause. Congratulations "1
Helen."

He was working in his fields when he was stricken, He is
survived by his wife, Mabel and a brother, Barney of Grass
Valley. Other. survivors are one son, a daughter, two other

Mrs, Julia Cole is home from the hospital. She has been
through quite a tussle with a severe sinus infection. Julia is
a member of Eastern Star and the Senior Citizens group and
was most gratified by the way her friends remembered her
during her stay in the hospital. But she says she is aera
glad to be home where she can sleep in peace.
Mr. ont Mrs. Lee a of Rough and Ready Road

Gary Miranda of Luke Air Force Base at Phoenix, Arizona,

Mrs, Lana Dudley of Sacramento is-a Nugget reader. She
has excellent taste, bless her heart. She likes my column. She
sent a delightful and appropriate book of poems titled "The
Heart Knows When It Is Spring." They were written by James

me immensely. One line comments "I cannot bid the merest
