Pay Tribute To ‘Citizen Of Year’ Isabel Hefelfinger By Ruth Brehm Attired in a gay fuchsia gown with white accessories and sportinga spray of large white orchids inher hair, lavender ones on her shoulder, Mrs. Isabel R. Hefelfinger, Nevada County Historical Society Citizen of the Year, looked the celebrity, as she re ceived twostanding ovations from the crowd of approximately 200 who gathered to do her honor Friday night in the Nevada City elementary school. Her pleasant, youthfully serene face belied the more than 30 years of service she has given as anurse, as a teacher, as a community leader to her native Nevada City. After listening to word and song in her praise for three hours a the gathering, often with the surreptitious use of a small white handkerchief, Isabel's words were brief: “It is so wonderful to see all my dear friends gathered together --I don't think I need to tell you anymore about myself! It is a ~. wonderful thing to live in a com munity like this.. “Love each other, help each other, work together towards each other..nothing takes the place of a friendly neighbor. I am grateful to Nevada City. " Doctor Tells Ills Of Teen-Age Marriages Dr, James E,-Ghargin spoke on “Teen-age Marriages” at the C.Y.O. meeting April 15. Included were scenes of a young and vivacious Mrs. Hefelfinger assisting at a Well Baby clinic, administering TB and hearing tests, and seeing that children were supplied with milk and afternoon rest.
