LETTER FROM WASHOE TERRITORY: Mr. Joseph Clark, former

under date of January 13th, as
follows:

now.g oing on in the country to
write about. We have plenty of
coldweather, and the miners are
anxiously waiting for the long

which now covers the hills and
valleys in every direction. .

of Steamboat Springs, in conse

ore. Quite a number of men are

An election was held in Carson

on Monday last, on the
adoption of a Constitution for a
municipal government; but the
measure was rejected by a large
majority. The people refused to
be governed, tothe great chagrin
of those who would dothe governing.

formerly of Nevada, whohad been
out hunting, was returning this
evening, and when within about
halfa mile of town gave out. He
commenced hallooing and when
assistance reached him he was
chilled through and quite helpless. He was brought to town and
