Week Essay Contest Winners The winners of the annual "Public Schools Week" essay contest eachreceived acash prize anda beautifully hand-. lettered papyrus cértificate at Seven Hills School's "Open House Night™"-on April 24, The theme this year was "Insure America's Puture Knowand Support Our Public Schools". The winners in the 8th grade were Collene McGrathfirst, Sheila Mc Cafferty second, and Nancy Emersonthird.In the 7th grade it was Susan Odom = first, Philip Browning second, and Robert Wojcik third. The pro=clamation invited the brethern to stay the summer and beyond.. way beyond, The proclamation is printed below in its ontirety and if it can be taken at face value it is a poetic expression of one way to enjoy the beautiful mountains that surround us. Two paragraphs contain certain lines that are intriguing and give a very. descriptive view of what kind of a summer the socalled hippies envision in the hills, ",.,.Free, flower ladies, sacraments, love, pine trees, lakes, children, flowers, herbs, snow, deer, religion, food, freedom,.." more practical ring but retains the same sense of uphoric communion with nature, thus: “Bring, tents, food, love, camping equipment, equipment, carpenters, axes, hammers, nails, shovels, wooden flutes, drums, lumber.." The hippie idea of summer camping is poetic if not practical and the picture of Digger work parties being accompanied by
