Pollution Fund Bill Introduced
Legislation has been introducedby Assemblyman PaulJ. Lunardi (DRoseville) to transfer $4, 000,
000 from the General Fund to
the State Water. Pollution
Control Fund, from which
fund it is appropriated for
Cootiettes
loans to local agencies for
construction of sewerage and
storm drainage facilities.
The State Water Pollution
Control Fund was established
during the 1949 General Session of the Legislature, appropriating $1,000,000 asa
toan to local agencies for
these facilities, repayable to
the State at 2 percent interest. Since this time, the
Fund has been practically
exhausted.
“Water pollution in the
State is an increasing threat
tostreams, lakes, communities and resort areas due to
the impact of population
growth and uses of recreational areas", Lunardi
stated, “and that is why I
have introduced Assembly
Bill 2356."
fire Agencies Meet To Coordinate Forest Blaze Plans
Approximately one hundred men from federal, state,
and local agencies in central
California and western Nevada, who protect forest and
wildland resources of the two
states from forest fires, will
attend the conference to be
held at Bijou in El Dorado
County April 12, 13, and14.
These annual meetings,
held prior to the fire season,
have as their goal the promotion of better cooperation
and understanding among the
many agencies involved in
the prevention and control
~of forest and watershed fires .
“Ralph Bangsberg, fire control officer of the El Dorado’
national forest and general
chairman of this years conference, stated that progress
in fire control activities
makes this years theme of
“Progress Through Fire Planning" most appropriate.
Discussions on progress in
fire research, fire planning ,
fire prevention, and use of
manpower will highlight the
two day meeting.
Equipment demonstrations
scheduled for Thursday after
noon will show latest progress _
in fire equipment as developed by fire control,
agencies’and private manufactures.

for Camellia City and Sacramento Doll Clubs.
March 2 was the regular
meeting of the Camellia
City Club was held at the
Garden and Art Center with

for the members to swap.or
trade doll parts among themselves.
March 3 a Bon Voyage party
was held for Martha Farsworth of Lincoln who left on
a month's vacation, via jet,
for England andFrance. She
will join her daughter, Susan,
who is attending college in
France. Aftera luncheon at
the Mansion Inn the members
went to the home of Mrs. Vedah Affleck of Sacramento
for dessert.
