* MRS . ELNOR LAMBERT, of Nevada City, shown with a painting of Nev“ada City done in 1886 by W. J. Straight, which she is restoring. After restoration the painting will hang in the Nevada City Masonic Temple. The circuitous journey of an 1886 painting of Nevada City has ended with return of the painting here, The ofl of the city, done by W. J. Straight during the year 1886 as viewed from near the Red Castle, is long and uncertain. However, it is known that shortly after the painting was created, it was relinquished to anew owner who lived in Aue burn in pay ment of a debt of $150. In time, the painting was given tothe Masonic Temple in Auburn where it hung in partial obscurity for inany years,Approximately twenty years ago, a member of the Nevada City Masonic lodge was visiting CLUB CALENDAR .
