Monday protested the pollution
of existing industries, as well
as opposing the proposedzoning. j
Objections centered upon a
fear. that the proposal would increase alleged air pollution from
existing industries, and detract
ties of the county.
"Osborn Hill is socked in
when all three plants are going
and the pollution is visible from
for Grass Valley," contended a
protester. He also charged that ~~
supervisors have failed to givethe Air Pollution Committee
sufficient power to act.
"Bear River really pours. out;
they don't have a burner, they
have a smudge pot. Talk about
air pollution--the environment
is just getting worse,” complained another. Poe
_. ‘DeWitt. Smith of Bear River
claimed his compahy is not responsible for the alleged

recognize pollution, smoke, and
dust, I lived by it so I understand. This is not only a problem for industry it is a community problem, We aren's asking for a license to do something that shouldn't be done,”
